Lid spec reference.
Lid choice has a bigger effect on Gaylord box performance than most procurement specs reflect. Three styles, three trade-offs.

Foam dunnage options.
Foam protects components during shipment. The three families we carry handle different protection profiles.
- Polyethylene (PE) foam. Closed-cell, water-resistant, soft. Best for surface-protection of finished goods.
- Polyurethane (PU) foam. Open-cell, very compressible, shock-absorbing. Best for fragile components.
- Expanded polystyrene (EPS). Rigid, lightweight, cost-effective. Best for void-fill and lightweight bulk protection.
For custom-shaped foam inserts (die-cut to component geometry), lead times are 1–3 weeks. For sheet stock, off-the-shelf.
Inner liner specs.
A poly liner inside a Gaylord box keeps the contents clean and the box itself in better condition for re-use. Liner specifications vary by use case.

Banding and strapping reference.
Most outbound loads ship strapped or banded. We carry three families, each with different break-strength and cost profiles.
- Poly strapping (PP). 1/2" or 5/8" common widths. Break strength 200–500 lbs. Cheapest. Best for general distribution.
- Polyester strapping (PET). 1/2" or 5/8" common. Break strength 700–1,500 lbs. Best for heavy loads, can replace steel in most applications.
- Steel strapping. 1/2" or 3/4". Break strength 1,500+ lbs. Best for heaviest industrial. Cuts easily on bare hands — handle with gloves.
Tensioner and crimp tools available for purchase or short-term rental.
What we don't stock.
Worth being explicit. We don't carry:
- Wooden crates or crating lumber.
- Bubble wrap (we'll recommend a regional supplier).
- Custom printed labels (vendor referral).
- Specialized industrial dunnage (e.g., air bags, void fill systems beyond foam sheet).
- Hazmat-rated UN-spec packaging.

Do accessory orders ship separately or with a box order?
Either works. For small accessory orders we recommend pairing with a box order to keep freight reasonable. Standalone accessory orders typically need to hit a small minimum freight threshold or get held for a partner-carrier consolidation.
Can you source FDA-compliant liners for food applications?
Yes. FDA-grade virgin LDPE liners are part of our regular catalog. Specify in your request.
Are your foam inserts recyclable?
Depends on type. PE foam is recyclable in some streams; EPS is recyclable but limited regionally; PU is not generally recyclable. We'll match the right material to your end-of-life expectations.
